Thoughtful quote of the day: “Man is a genius when he is dreaming.” – Akira Kurosawa Noted Japanese Filmmaker (BrainyQuote)
I saw Jesus. And [He] placed His hands on my back exactly where the pain was. Till this day, I can still feel His hands as if they’re there. And it was at that moment, when I felt His hands touch my back, I felt all the pain go away. American actor Quinton Aaron — known for his starring role in the film The Blind Side — shares how a spinal stroke put him in a coma, during which he died multiple times and encountered Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian), who healed him on the spot.
Quinton had been experiencing what he thought was severe back pain — icing it, using a heating pad, taking ibuprofen (painkiller) — not realizing an infection in his foot had traveled through his bloodstream into his spine, causing blood clots and a spinal stroke. The day he was finally taken to the hospital, he had been on the floor, unable to move, and discovered he had lost the use of his legs entirely. He was rushed to the emergency room by ambulance, and the last thing he remembers is a doctor asking permission to cut off his clothing before he blacked out. He woke up four days later, having been in a coma — and, as he would later learn, having coded [code blue / cardiac arrest] multiple times.
So, first of all, what they say is true. Sometimes they say, like, if you speak to people when they’re in a coma, they can hear you. I was able to hear and see people that visited me, as if I was looking at them, but I was asleep. But I know several people that visited me while I was in a coma that weren’t there when I woke up. And later on, they told me they came to visit. And I’m like, “I remember seeing you.” And they’re like, “What are you talking about? You were in a coma.” I remember it. I said, “You took my hand, and you were talking to me,” and you’re like, you’re here. And I’m like, to myself, I’m thinking, you’re supposed to be in Colorado, because there was one person that came from Colorado to visit me, and there was someone that came from Detroit. So, people would come in, and I had family coming in town, so, but I remember seeing them and hearing them talk to me, but I wasn’t awake.
So, the day that I woke up from the coma, I later came to realize that I coded [code blue / cardiac arrest] a few times that day, so I, like, died. And they had to bring me back. At the time, I didn’t know that’s what happened, but it made sense, as I was told that that was what had happened, because I saw Jesus. So, I saw the profile of Him. Like, I didn’t see His face straight on, but His skin complexion was a little lighter than mine. He had long white hair, and He was in a white robe. I couldn’t see His feet. I saw, like, this golden glow coming from beneath the robe, and He kind of, like, floated past me at first. And I was in this kind of state where I felt like everything was spinning, and my head was hurting. And so, I was, like, bent over with my hands on my head. And then He appeared in front of me and placed His hands on my back exactly where the pain was. Till this day, I can still feel His hands as if they’re there. And it was at that moment, when I felt His hands touch my back, I felt all the pain go away. And then, after a few seconds, I woke up.
I was back in my bed in the hospital instead of — because, like, when I saw Him, it was like from one moment I’m laying in my bed, the next moment I’m in New York. This literally looked like my old neighborhood in New York. And it was, like, cold and snow. And I went from there back to being in bed. And the pain was gone, and it was like I was intubated, so I couldn’t talk, but I knew I didn’t need surgery or anything. But I couldn’t tell anybody. And then the doctors confirmed it through tests that I needed no surgery.
Quinton had been a lifelong believer, having grown up in the church. I was always a believer, but like this made it — it increased my faith, I would say, because when I found out that I coded, that made so much sense to me, because it was like, instead of it feeling like just a vision, it was like, no, you died. And God brought me back. Like, He placed His hands on me, and I came back. So, it feels like I was given a second chance. I mean, it’s man, it was amazing.
Quinton says that the Divine encounter didn’t just heal his body — it transformed how he sees life and death. I don’t think I’ve had a fear of dying. I feel like, when He’s ready to bring me Home, I just hope that that’s where I’m going. I try to live the kind of life that, when it’s all said and done, I head to Heaven. I’d rather go up than down, so I feel like, with Him literally bringing me back to life, my work here is not done. I got more to do, so there’s more to the story.
Now out of the intensive care unit and in rehabilitation, Quinton says the experience has given him a clear sense of purpose. Everything’s going great, man, I’m getting stronger each and every day. I feel like God is driving, so I’m along for the ride, and I’m prepared to go where He’s trying to take me.
I feel like one of the biggest things is I want to tell my story. I want to be an encouragement to a lot of people who either went through something similar or are facing something similar because there’s hope that needs to be spread throughout the world, and my story is one that can provide hope. I feel like the more I can help people by encouraging them with my story, the more it’s also helping me in return. I just want to make my mark on the world by changing lives for the better, as many as I can. (TMZ)
